Documentary Style Engagement Session
One of my goals going into 2023 was to start incorporating more documentary-style prompting into all of my weddings and sessions and to allow the natural connection between people to shine rather than sticking to the same poses that I’m used to. I’ve also been challenging myself to capture unique perspectives, angles, and details to give my images a cinematic and nostalgic quality that showcases my couple’s unique personalities. One of the ways I’ve been doing that is by suggesting an activity of some kind that feels authentic to them
Couples Photos in Denver
For this engagement session in Denver, we set up Brittany and Erik with a picnic outside on a blanket that included an amazing charcuterie board, flowers, and vintage books. They read each other poems and reminisced on their favorite memories in their relationship leading up to their wedding day. It was truly a magical evening and such a romantic engagement session. I especially love how lovely the images on film turned out! Even though it rained all afternoon, the sun came out just in time for their photos. Even though the weather has been unpredictable recently in Denver, I love how green everything has gotten!
Planning an Engagement Session with Me
I absolutely love doing an engagement session before a wedding so I can meet my couples in real life before their big day! It’s a great way to get comfy in front of the camera, practice being prompted and posed, and create amazing memories with your future spouse. It’s also a chance for me to learn what makes you laugh, how you naturally interact with your partner, and what poses work best for you!
